Okay, so I am going to need to take the jeep in, I got the dreaded red lightning bolt this morning. Do I need to get it in to a dealership before it gets worse, I will have recalls done at the same time. What dealership should I take it too. I'm going to call today.

If anyone had an idea I'm own to that as well Hey Dallas, Its the Electronic Throttle Control System. I have thrown at least a dozen of these codes. Nothing serious or stress about. Turning car off will usually reset it but if you have a programmer, you can clear the stored code(s). Usually p2179 or p2138 or if you dont have programmer, pulling fuse 11 WHILE CAR IS OFF will usually reset it as well. Good Luck, and dont let the dealerships pull a quick one on you regarding ETC code

Thank you so much, I've been stressing like crazy because it happened to my wife this morning. Do when I get home tonight, I will do exactly what you said.
I should really get a programmer it seems to solve alot of the problems I'm experiencing, I just don't want to void the warranty.

Hey Chris, did your car happen to have a hard time starting or sputter a bit No sputter or hard time re starting, mine went into limp mode, where it felt like it wouldn't shift out of first gear or rev higher then 3000 rpm.

Hey Chris, so turns out that this is an actual recall. I guess there was a class action lawsuit and they must have lost because it is now recalled. Kind of a relief.
