Ok guys so I'm trying to figure out what cam I should go with for my 2005 300c 5.7 I plan to keep my stock heads possibly have them ported and polished if it's not to expensive what's the best cam to gain the most power I will also be doing long tube headers with hi flow cats and obviously gonna need a custom tune any ideas and suggestions with about how much all this is gonna cost me would be great thanks guys

Which cam depends on if you have a VVT or not. SRT801 and Barryb are pretty smart with cam recommendations. As far as tunes I would go with a diablo predator and have Johan tune it. He has tuned several of our cars. I'm happy will his work.

No vvt I have a trinity now gonna just run the canned tune til I do cam and headers then get a custom tune

Custom tunes aren't worth the money until major mods are done. Trinity is a nice tuner.

What would be considered major mods ? most of the cams I have researched say custom tune is needed after install

A cam will require a custom tune. A lot of the 5.7l owners like the 6.1l or 6.4l cam upgrade.
Long tube headers with non-green, catless mids, or high flow cats will require a tune (it trips the O2 codes), upgrading fuel injectors, heads.

Thanks for the info guys for my application keeping my stock heads and not messing with my Trans looking like it's between the spartan 114 and comp cams 268 The spartan is gonna be more expensive due to changing springs and push rods and is priced about 100$ more for the cam itself think it's worth it to go with the spartan lots of people have had good results with the 268
