So I'm torn. I'm gonna be changing gears in the gomango Charger, but I'm not sure what to go with.
I could stay with a 3.06, 3.73, or 3.91 and keep it a more affordable getrag with upgraded clutches.. but I'm leaning toward the 3.23 area which will mean a diff swap. The paramount 8.8 is in my sights, and I can choose any ratio with that.
Being a turbo car, I read a lot about how it's important to keep load on it and shift the least, which technically would make 3.06 the ideal ratio, leaving me in the top of 3rd as I cross the finish line. But it's also a very heavy car and has a hard time getting going, so I'm wondering if 3.23s or even 3.55s would help. 3.23s seem like i would have it hitting 3rd a couple 100 feet before the finish line, and 3.55s would make 4th gear a big part of the 1/4, but I think I would be wasting the turbos with that short of a ratio.
I plan to run a 28" tire on 17s at the track, racemasters or something.

306 is a stock gearing. I would look at the 373 or bigger. I think chris runs like a 411 or something n/a.

I think your right that Chris has a 3.73. Mine is a 3.92 according to the build sheet the dealer printed for me. This is one thing I'm not familiar with.

I think 3.73 pretty tall for a turbo car, my 2.82s are certainly dogs, and kill my off the line performance, but I fear anything taller than 3.55 will unload the turbos enough that I may lose more top end than I'd want. Even 3.55s could be much.. but then 3.23s would require a diff swap, ford 8.8" or 9"
It makes for an expensive decision lol.

I have 3.73 gears which can be a bit much for 5 speed automatic. 3.92 is great if you have a 6 speed manual but would way too much for a 5 speed automatic in my opinion unless you like revving 4k RPMs at 65 mph on the freeway. In my opinion 3.23 gears would be ideal, 3.55 would be another great option. I would bet that most mopar turbos run at 3.06 gearing but check on the LX national forum. keep in mind, gears and tires size will be a factor in where in the power band you will be when trapping in 1320ft. Oh Getreg limited slip diff only comes in 3.06 3.73 and 3.92.
