Racing this year three Sundays in a row now. First Sunday about 25 vehicles, second Sunday about 35 vehicles, yesterday 65 plus vehicles. Too many, no return lane, but it was fun, 50s and 60s rods and ratrods and everything to modern. Diesel trucks, some fast, some wannabees. Competition is getting rough, my son Mike's silverado beats me now, Jared Nelsons 08 SRT8 Challenger, SC with a little spray came within a fender, virtually a tie. No lights, no bracket racing, hand flag, just the way I like it!

Do not know if I will be bringing the orange brick to MATS,I am coming, be there on vacation anyway. I'm having trouble with traction all the way down the strip. The Jeep differentials are both open, when one wheel on the back spins the transfer case switches load to front. Left front rises with torque and spins. Need a locker in back and an electric locker in front, don't know if I will have them in time for MATS. May be something wrong with the system, but I think just too much torque and HP. When I put 150 spray to it, I don't do any better with ET, just spins more. Tried it on better, newer pavement and it is a little better, but not much.

The Vegas track is prepped very well, if you stay in the grove and have good tires traction my not be a issue at MATS.

Good to know, if I spin at all in the back, some load goes to front left that has little or no weight on it during launch. My sole purpose of taking it to Vegas is to get a ten, so still up in the air on that. I can possibly get the ten at RMR last of April at test and tune, if I have a rear locker in by then. I have got a ten here last fall, DA 3600, according to Diablo Trinity, which has been real close to track times. I do realize that does not count, I want an official slip. Also the ten here was without spray.

Yesterday, 75 plus vehicles, ran against the fastest diesel to show up here yet, Dodge multi-turbo with 200 shot, got him by three. Knocked off another bullet bike, Ninja 1000, got him by about 40 feet. I am spinning front and back all the way through the quarter. Mike is king now, gets me by about a car. Do not need any derogatory remarks, I know that with proper tires, suspension and a decent track that I would hook up, This is what we have and we enjoy it.

Hey Tom, as Gordon mentioned, Las Vegas speedway track is prep really sticky to handle all those 8-9 second mopars with 14"-17" wide slicks. You should be good at Las Vegas with some sticky tires. Anyhow, if you don't race, come hang out in pit area with us, it would be great catching up with you. Not to put the carriage before the horse as I often do but I'm hoping to collect a 11.9 or better time slip all motor on stock block with no spray. Hoping to have a sub 3200' DA in Vegas that weekend.

I hope that you get your 11 and I would push the button to get it if nessasary. There are other reasons that I may not bring the Jeep. We are going to be on vacation down there anyway for a week, my wife hates the Jeep especially to ride in it. We have a 2014 GCSummit, she loves it and so do I. I would have to pull the Jeep on a trailer with it, which it will do. But I don't want to worry about that train down there for a week just for one race to try for a ten. If I can get the ten or close to it at RMR end of April, I may go all out with a roll cage and so forth and try for a deep ten next time in Vegas. I have not made up my mind as to what to do, bring the Jeep or not I will be there at least one day, look you up and cheer you on.

85-90 vehicles Sunday, a 640HP GT 500 and a GTR came out and had fun. I did not race them, but Mike got them about three cars. The GT 500 would have done better than he did with slicks, but it looked like Mike was still gaining distance on them down the stretch. Too many wanting to race, was becoming a little hectic. I tried to run a couple of times but went into limp mode for unknown reason. Mike gave the GTR a about a second head start and could not catch him.

Ya got hate when car goes into limp mode, mine did it last year in 2nd round of brackets. You guys are getting a huge turnout on Sundays, at RMR I ran much quicker times, almost a full second than both a new gt500 and a new cts v, both on street tires of course. Give em slicks and im sure we would have closer tome slips. There was a Gtr at RMR that ran 11.8, which is half a second faster than me, but hell it's a $90k car. I'm looking forward to seeing you guys run at RMR next month. Hope ya get limp mode issue figured out.

Limp mode, I believe is the trans saying, hey, too much tire spin. I have a TCM, not installed yet, also on order wheels, tires and rear locker, The factory SC and turbo cads, camaros, Shelbys and the GTR are fast but have not caught us, "YET". The GTR is a 2013, he said that he paid 113,000 for. My son Mike's truck runs mid 11s, that is about all I can do right now, I am literally spinning my tires off. If I push the button on a 150 shot I just spin more, gain only about two tenths. Sounds like you are running real good, be good to see it.
